🌟 Sir Llewellyn Edwards
Llewellyn Edwards was born in Ipswich in 1935 and initially trained as an electrician before studying medicine. After graduating in 1965 and working overseas, he returned to practise in Ipswich. Election as the city’s state member in 1972 led to senior ministerial responsibilities, including health and the treasury. He later chaired World Expo ’88 and served as University of Queensland chancellor. The local connection spans birth, medical work and representation, with a career that made more than one substantial change of direction.
